These Brand Safety Guidelines ("Guidelines") set out standards for content, advertising opportunities, real-time offers, and activity submitted or delivered through AdMesh. They address the responsibilities of advertisers, agencies, publishers, AI platforms, demand partners, and other users and integration operators in protecting users, brands, and the integrity of the Services.
1. Scope and Application
These Guidelines apply to participating properties, applications, conversational interfaces, agents, integrations, brand information, offers, sponsored recommendations, and associated landing pages across AI conversations and other supported channels. Each user is responsible for the content, systems, and activity it owns, operates, submits, or authorizes.
Read these Guidelines together with the Terms of Service and any applicable written agreement. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms. These Guidelines supplement the applicable obligations in those agreements; they do not reduce either party's legal or contractual responsibilities.
2. Legal Compliance and Rights
2.1 Applicable Law
Users must comply with the laws applicable to their activities, audiences, and markets, including advertising, consumer-protection, privacy, and applicable sanctions requirements. Users must not use the Services to facilitate unlawful transactions or evade restrictions that apply to them or the products they promote.
2.2 Content and Intellectual Property Rights
Users must hold the rights and permissions needed to submit, display, and monetize their content and use their brand names, logos, offers, and landing pages. Content must not infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or confidentiality rights. These responsibilities apply to content users publish or approve, including material generated by AI or supplied by third parties. Users must not misrepresent a brand's identity, authorization, affiliation, or endorsement.
3. Consent and Data Responsibilities
3.1 Notices, Consent, and User Choices
Before submitting user data, users must provide required notices, establish the necessary lawful basis, and obtain consent where required. Integrations must respect applicable withdrawals, opt-outs, and preference signals, including Global Privacy Control where legally required, and accurately convey relevant choices through supported interfaces. Signals must not be falsified, suppressed, or overridden to obtain advertising eligibility.
3.2 Data Minimization and Restricted Information
Submit only information necessary for the requested Services. Remove unnecessary personal or confidential details, and keep passwords, API keys, access tokens, and other credentials out of queries and contextual content. Special-category personal data and other highly sensitive information must not be submitted unless expressly agreed in writing with AdMesh and permitted by applicable law. Do not use sensitive personal information to construct unlawful targeting criteria or audience segments.
Users must comply with the Terms' restrictions concerning children's information and properties directed to children. Sanitization and redaction supplement these duties and do not supply missing permissions. AdMesh's handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, the Data Processing Addendum.
4. Placement Integrity
4.1 Accurate Source and Context
Requests must accurately identify the property, application, placement, and context they represent. Users must not impersonate another publisher, fabricate a placement, conceal the actual source of activity, or alter context to misrepresent user intent. Partners submitting opportunities on another party's behalf must have authority to do so and comply with the relevant integration requirements.
4.2 Visibility and User Experience
Sponsored placements must be usable, visible, and integrated without deceptive interference with the core experience. Users must not hide or stack recommendations, place them behind other content, use misleading navigation or forced redirects, or position controls to generate accidental clicks. Placement frequency and presentation must follow applicable AdMesh documentation and integration terms. Measurement and sponsorship disclosures must not be obscured or disabled.
5. Traffic and Measurement Quality
5.1 Authentic Exposures, Clicks, and Conversions
Reported exposures, clicks, conversions, and attribution events must represent the activity they claim to measure. Users must not fabricate, replay, or duplicate events to increase reported activity, trigger payments, or distort auction outcomes. Hidden or background delivery must not be reported as a user exposure.
- Do not use bots, click farms, or simulated users to manufacture engagement.
- Do not offer rewards for artificial advertising interactions or false conversions.
- Do not repeatedly request or refresh recommendations to manufacture activity.
- Do not change attribution references or interfere with measurement to obtain unearned credit.
5.2 Authorized Agent Activity
Authorized automated integrations and brand-agent participation are supported subject to the Terms and applicable documentation. Agent-initiated requests must reflect an authentic user interaction or a user-authorized task supported by the integration. An automated request does not itself establish that a person saw a recommendation, clicked an offer, or completed a conversion. Testing must follow the supported testing workflow and must not be presented as genuine user activity.
6. Content Standards
6.1 Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following standards apply to submitted offers and advertising materials, associated landing pages, and the content or experiences alongside which recommendations are presented. Users must not promote or facilitate:
- Fraud, scams, unlawful transactions, or counterfeit or stolen goods.
- Hate, discriminatory abuse, targeted harassment, extremist violence, or graphic exploitation of harm.
- Sexual exploitation, explicit adult advertising, or abuse involving children.
- Encouragement of self-harm or violence against other people.
- Illegal drug distribution or unlawful promotion of controlled substances.
- Malware, credential theft, unauthorized system access, or deceptive redirects.
- Piracy, impersonation, nonconsensual intimate imagery, or deceptive synthetic media.
- Materially misleading claims, fabricated endorsements, or advertising claims without required substantiation.
6.2 Regulated Products and Sensitive Contexts
Products and services such as alcohol, nicotine, gambling, weapons, pharmaceuticals, financial products, and political advertising may be subject to legal and channel-specific restrictions. Users must meet applicable licensing, age, location, disclosure, and advertising requirements and any additional restrictions communicated by AdMesh. Access to an account or API does not establish approval for a restricted use. AdMesh may decline opportunities involving regulated products or sensitive situations, including crisis interactions and medical emergencies.
7. AI Experiences and Sponsored Disclosures
7.1 Clear Sponsored Labeling
Sponsored recommendations must carry clear, prominent advertising disclosures that users can understand in the interface where they appear. Integration operators must preserve required labels and make the commercial nature of the recommendation apparent before users interact with it. Sponsorship must remain clear when recommendations are reformatted or included in an AI response. Users must meet applicable advertising-disclosure requirements in the markets they serve. The FTC's native advertising guidance provides guidance for advertising directed to U.S. consumers.
7.2 Relevant and Authentic Interactions
Recommendations should relate to the user's actual request and preserve the usefulness of the interaction. Users must not manufacture dialogue, invent urgency, falsify user preferences, imply nonexistent independent endorsements, or bypass safety controls to steer a user toward an offer. AdMesh evaluates intent and context for supported requests and may decline opportunities with unclear intent, insufficient relevance, or safety concerns. Partners must maintain safeguards appropriate to their audience, languages, and supported use cases.
8. Brand-Agent and Partner Controls
Brand-agent configuration includes brand information, messaging guidelines, offer rules, auction settings, and available do-not-bid contexts and exclusions. Advertisers and agencies must review and approve the information and rules their agents use, apply suitable exclusions and supported location restrictions, and maintain accurate product details, claims, and landing pages. They remain responsible for authorized agent activity under the Terms, including monitoring offers and updating configurations.
Publishers, AI platforms, and integration operators are responsible for their properties, content safeguards, audience controls, presentation, and measurement implementation. Demand partners and other intermediaries remain responsible for the accuracy and authorization of the content and activity they submit. Automated checks supplement each participant's responsibilities under its applicable agreement.
9. Review and Enforcement
9.1 Investigation and Remediation
AdMesh may assess reported concerns and available service signals, investigate suspected violations, and request relevant information about affected content, placements, or integrations. Users must promptly stop prohibited activity, preserve relevant records where lawful, and reasonably cooperate with investigation and remediation without disclosing unnecessary personal data or credentials.
9.2 Enforcement and Review Requests
Subject to the Terms, applicable law, and any controlling written agreement, AdMesh may reject requests or offers, require corrections, restrict an integration, suspend participation, or terminate access. Urgent risks, fraud, or serious violations may require immediate action as permitted by the Terms. Any payment or credit adjustment remains subject to the applicable agreement. Affected users may request review by contacting AdMesh with relevant service references and supporting information.
10. Updates and Related Documents
AdMesh may update these Guidelines as the Services, risks, or applicable requirements change. The current version will be published here with a revised date. Notice of material changes will be provided where required by the applicable agreement or law.
Participation remains subject to the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and, where applicable, our Data Processing Addendum. The applicable DPA governs processing of Customer Personal Data on a customer's behalf and prevails over conflicting provisions of these Guidelines concerning that processing.
